Steeton Court Nursing Home to Host Free Care Home Finances Talk in partnership with Hogg Financial Planning

Caroline Cowland | Registered Manager

I started my career as a staff nurse for the NHS and went on to work in varied nursing roles from immunising children to elderly care. In recent years I moved into the care sector where I have worked as a nurse, clinical Deputy Manager and Home Manager. I am passionate about good quality care for our residents leading with care and compassion.

Before becoming Home Manager at Steeton Court, in my first six months at Spellman Care I worked across all four homes as Quality Assurance Officer to ensure we are compliant, safe, and providing quality care. I love meeting with the residents in our care and getting to know them as individuals and seeing what we can do to make their lives the best it can be.

In my spare time I love to hike and can be found up many of the famous peaks in the country! I have two young boys who also keep me busy and I like to go out for days with them.

Steeton Court Nursing Home is pleased to announce a vital, free-to-attend Question and Answer session on the often-complex topic of Care Home Finances, in partnership with local experts, Hogg Financial Planning.

The informative event is open to all members of the community and will take place at Steeton Court Nursing Home, Steeton Hall Gardens, BD20 6SW on Tuesday, 18 November 2025 at 6.30 pm.

This session is designed to provide clarity and guidance on care costs. The experts from Hogg Financial Planning will be available to answer questions on a range of crucial subjects, including Power of Attorney, Will Writing, Care Home Fees & Funding Care, and understanding what SOLLA (Society of Later Life Advisers) is. The aim is to empower attendees with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about their own or a loved one’s financial future.
