Our Accreditations

As a group we are always looking to progress and improve the care we provide. Undertaking accreditations is a large part of this, allowing us to improve specific parts of our care.

Gold Standard Framework

Each of our Homes are currently undertaking the Gold Standard Framework accreditation. The Gold Standards Framework (GSF) is an evidence based systematic approach to formalising best practice through improving the organisation and coordination of care for all people with any condition in any setting in the final year or so of life.

The aims of GSF are to:

  • Improve the quality of care for all people nearing the end of life – in line with their preferences
  • Improve the coordination and collaboration of teams supporting them
  • Improve outcomes for people enabling more to live and die where they choose, reduced hospitalisation and improved cost-effectiveness.

Dignity In Care

We believe that being treated with dignity is a fundamental human right, which is why each of our homes proudly has a dedicated Dignity in Care champion. Registered with the national Dignity in Care campaign, our champions act as passionate role models who ensure that compassion, respect, and person-centred care remain at the heart of our daily practice. They are committed to upholding the campaign’s ’10 Dignity Do’s’—which include treating each resident as an individual, maximising independence, respecting privacy, and actively combating isolation. By guiding and inspiring their colleagues, our Dignity champions make sure that we don’t just see a resident’s care needs, but that we truly see, listen to, and value the person behind them.

Menopause Workplace Pledge

Spellman Care is proud to have signed the Menopause Workplace Pledge, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of our employees. As part of this initiative, we are continuing to build a positive and inclusive working environment where colleagues experiencing menopause feel understood, supported and valued. We work with the Menopause Workplace Pledge to further enhance awareness, guidance and practical support across our homes.

West Yorkshire Fair Work Charter

We are delighted to be a member of the West Yorkshire Fair Work Charter, a regional initiative that supports and celebrates employers committed to fair, inclusive and supportive workplaces. Our involvement recognises the steps we take to provide good working conditions, promote staff wellbeing, and ensure every team member feels valued, listened to and supported. By joining the Charter, we are part of a growing network of organisations dedicated to continuous improvement, sharing best practice, and creating positive working environments that benefit both our colleagues and the people we care for.

The  Veteran Friendly Framework

Our homes are proud to be veteran friendly. You can read more about this accreditation on the next page.

Staff Training & Development

We are committed to developing our staff, whilst providing a high-quality environment for our residents.

On-going training

Every member of staff undertakes an on-going programme of training on an annual basis, covering all areas of health and safety, care support and understanding of our residents needs.

We work closely with a training partner to ensure this training is undertaken either online, in person, or through a practical session, as appropriate to the course content.

Health & Social Care Diploma

All of our care staff undertake the Health & Social Care Diploma, and we encourage all to continue through the different levels of qualification to further their development.
