Summer is here and Springbank Care Home is excited to host two free intergenerational play sessions for families! Members of the public are invited to visit Springbank for an afternoon of fun, laughter, and connection as residents and children come together for an unforgettable experience.
This is a fantastic opportunity for children to interact with older adults, learn about different generations, and engage in stimulating activities. Residents will have the chance to share their stories, play games, and rediscover the joy of spending time with younger people.
“At Springbank Care Home, we’re always looking for ways to give back to our community. We understand that summer holidays can be a time when families struggle with the costs of activities and entertainment for their children. That’s why we’re excited to host these free intergenerational play sessions!” says April Howie, Deputy Manager at Springbank Care Home. “Intergenerational interactions are incredibly beneficial for both residents and children. They create a sense of connection, reduce social isolation, and provide opportunities for learning and growth.”
The sessions will open on Friday 9th August and Friday 23rd August with a free lunch for the children, including a sandwich, crisps, assorted fruits, a drink and a sweet treat! Space is limited, so please reserve your spot by emailing activities@springbanksilsden.co.uk.
