An Introduction...
After joining the Spellman Care family in 2004, Craven Nursing Home quickly became a highly regarded Home of choice for many locals. This modern, spacious setting, continues the Spellman family legacy of providing friendly, person-centred care built on trust and compassion.
Nestled in its own grounds within the picturesque market town of Skipton, the Home offers wonderful views over the countryside and beyond. Crucially, the Home backs onto the stunning Leeds and Liverpool Canal, and the fields and moorland beyond, offering beautiful, tranquil views throughout the year. A much-looked-forward-to event is the annual summer trip out on an accessible canal boat, allowing residents to fully enjoy the famous local waterways.
The Home features 64 light and spacious rooms, all equipped with an en suite lavatory. Each room is stylishly decorated, and we strongly encourage our residents to personalise their space to make it feel truly their own. Our large, comfortable lounges and dining rooms are designed as wonderful social spaces, inviting residents to interact and build friendships within the community.

Meet Steph, our Home Manager...
I have worked here for over 23 years now, starting as a Care Assistant in 2002. I gained my Registered General Nurse qualification over 17 years ago and have steadily progressed through the ranks, being Clinical Lead on nights for a year before being promoted to Deputy Manager in January 2020, and subsequently Home Manager in June 2023.
I enjoy delivering the very best care to our residents with kindness, dignity, and compassion. We have very experienced and caring members of staff at Craven, and I am proud to be part of this fantastic team! My biggest passion has always been Palliative Care, being able to deliver resident-led care to those in their last weeks or months of life, in a respectful and dignified way to our residents and giving support to their relatives.
I have lived in or close by to Skipton for over 30 years and outside of work, I am a Mum to Imogen (13) and Cian (10). Our busy lives consist of work, school and football but most of all, making memories as a family of 3.
My dedication to Craven Nursing Home and Spellman Care will never change and my aim will always be to provide the highest level of care.
