Local care home group supports national Christmas campaign

Spellman Care, a local group of four care & nursing homes, has collected donations for The Salvation Army for the 2nd year running.

Since October, the four homes have offered visitors, residents and staff the opportunity to donate to The Salvation Army’s ‘Be A Star’ toy appeal.

The appeal aims to collect as many Christmas present donations as possible to be wrapped and distributed in the Keighley area.

Steven Spellman, Director at Spellman Care said… “We’re overwhelmed by the support shown by our Residents, Relatives, Staff members and Visitors. Each Christmas we choose a local charity to support, with 2023 being the second year we have collected for the Salvation Army. Christmas is a special time of the year, and it’s important that it can be enjoyed by everyone in the local community, including those who are less fortunate.”

Penny Southgate, Community Manager for the Keighley Salvation army commented “It’s always a massive boost to our annual Be a Star Toy Appeal when local organisations, businesses and groups come together to support us.  We deliver to over 150 families locally, totalling about 450 children.”
