Spellman Care Celebrates 35 Years of Colleagues Exceptional Service

Spellman Care, a leading provider of compassionate care services, recently marked a truly remarkable milestone, celebrating Rachael Houldsworth’s extraordinary 35 years of unwavering dedication to the Spellman Care family. As the longest-serving team member, Rachael is not just an employee; she is the heart and soul of the organisation.

The celebration was a heartfelt tribute to Rachael’s profound impact, with Directors Steven and Tony Spellman sharing touching reflections. Tony Spellman fondly recalled Rachael’s early days, highlighting her steadfast commitment since the very beginning of Spellman Care. Steven Spellman eloquently emphasised Rachael’s invaluable contributions and her essential role at both Spellman Care and the beloved Steeton Court Nursing Home. Their words resonated with the immense appreciation felt by all.

Residents, their families, and Rachael’s colleagues joined in the joyous occasion, sharing smiles and enjoying a delicious cake specially prepared by Steeton Court’s Head Chef, Craig McCarthy. The highlight of the celebration was the presentation of a certificate, a vibrant bouquet of flowers, and a special gift from Steven and Tony, a token of deep gratitude for her extraordinary service.

“It’s genuinely hard to imagine Spellman Care without Rachael,” said Steven Spellman. “To think she was here at Steeton Court even before the carpets were laid, and her payroll number is 3 – that speaks volumes about her foundational role in our story.

Rachael’s kindness, dedication, and caring spirit have touched countless lives over the past 35 years, making her a true inspiration to everyone at Spellman Care.”

“We feel incredibly fortunate to have Rachael as part of our Spellman Care family,” added Tony Spellman. “Thank you for everything, Rachael, and we look forward to working with you for many more years to come”.

Rachael commented, “My journey at Steeton Court Nursing Home began on 7th May, 1990, after transitioning from the NHS where I’d worked since graduating Secretarial College in September 1986. I arrived as the building neared completion, unfurnished but brimming with potential. It was incredibly exciting to be part of building a new nursing home from the ground up, welcoming our first residents and quickly becoming a close-knit family. Every moment at Steeton Court since then has been a joy. Over these past 35 years, I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful people—truly amazing residents, their families, and dedicated colleagues. I’ve gathered memories I will treasure for a lifetime, and I’m deeply grateful to be part of a team so committed to making our residents’ lives the best they can be.”
