Spellman Care, a group of luxury care homes across Yorkshire, concluded a highly engaging Care Home Open Week on Friday 28th June. The week was filled with informative talks, lively activities, and a strong sense of community spirit.
A highlight of the week was the insightful talk on Motor Neurone Disease (MND) delivered by Tracy Sanderson from the MND Association at Ghyll Royd Care Home. Residents and visitors gained valuable knowledge about the disease and the support available.
Spellman Care also celebrated diversity and inclusion with their signature event, Spellman Pride, held at Steeton Court Nursing Home. This vibrant celebration showcased the LGBTQ+ community and fostered a sense of belonging for all residents, colleagues and visitors.
Throughout the week, Spellman Care offered a variety of activities for all ages. From Veteran’s Cafes and Dog Shows to Gardening Groups and Children’s reading sessions, there was something for everyone to enjoy!
“We are thrilled with the success of Care Home Open Week,” said Philippa Young, Operations Manager at Spellman Care. “The week provided a wonderful opportunity to showcase the exceptional care and vibrant communities we offer our residents. We were delighted to welcome visitors of all ages and backgrounds, and we look forward to building on these connections in the future.”
Following on from Care Home Open Week, Spellman Care is looking forward to many more open activities and events, with upcoming highlights including a talk on Power of Attorney with Morrish Solicitors, and an educational visit from Benton Park School.
