Following a month of incredible generosity, Spellman Care is delighted to announce the successful conclusion of its 2026 Easter Appeal. This morning, a boot-full of Easter eggs, crafts, and activity sets was officially handed over to the Airedale Hospital & Community Charity.
The appeal, which ran across all four Spellman Care homes—Craven Nursing Home in Skipton, Ghyll Royd Care Home in Guiseley, Springbank Care Home in Silsden, and Steeton Court Nursing Home in Steeton—saw an overwhelming response from the local community. Residents, relatives, and staff members worked together to collect a vast array of treats to ensure that those spending their Easter in hospital receive something special.
The donation was hand-delivered by Spellman Care’s Peter and Kirstie, who met with Katie Lister, Head of Communications at Airedale, to transfer the collection.
During the handover, Katie Lister commented on how amazing it was for so many eggs to be collected across the various Spellman Care homes. She noted how the donations will make a significant difference to patients of all ages, particularly for those who unfortunately may not receive visitors over the Easter period.
On behalf of the patients at Airedale, Katie passed on her sincere thanks to Spellman Care’s residents, relatives, staff, and the wider community for their kindness and all of the donations received.
The initiative aimed to bring a touch of seasonal joy to the wards, providing comfort to patients during their recovery. By surpassing previous donation goals, the appeal ensures that the spirit of Easter reaches as many people as possible throughout the hospital.
Spellman Care would like to extend its deepest gratitude to everyone who visited the drop-off points and contributed to the appeal’s success. It is through this collective community spirit that such a positive impact can be made for those in need of a little extra cheer this spring.
