Respite Offers
Respite Offers

While many of our residents call Spellman Care “home” on a permanent basis, our doors are always open for those who require a shorter stay. We understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes a professional helping hand is needed for just a few weeks.

Our Respite Care Packages and Offers are designed to provide that essential support, ensuring your loved one is safe, comfortable, and cared for in a warm, community environment.

A respite stay can be a vital resource for many different situations. We regularly welcome guests for a variety of reasons, including:

A Well-Earned Break:

Giving dedicated family carers the opportunity to recharge their batteries, knowing their loved one is in safe hands.

A Supportive Buffer:

Providing a comfortable bridge between a hospital discharge and a return to independent living at home.

Holiday Cover:

Ensuring professional, 24-hour care for a loved one whilst family is away on a trip or holiday.

A “Trial Stay”:

Offering a chance to experience life at a Spellman Care home before making a long-term commitment.

Whatever the reason for the visit, our respite guests are treated as part of the family. They enjoy full access to our vibrant social calendars, nutritious home-cooked meals, luxury in house salon, regular trips out, stunning enclosed gardens, and the same attentive care of our professional teams.

Relative Testimonial
"Dad needed residential dementia nursing care urgently when discharged from hospital. We contacted Ghyll Royd and it was so impressive that they were able to assess him and admit him the same day for a respite period. It was really good to see the staff in Beech so patient and caring with all the residents and they were brilliant. The management worked well and did all they could to make arrangements as easy as possible all around. The nursing care worked really well in getting his medication sorted and provided an excellent 'handover' as he left Ghyll Royd. Unfortunately, Dad is unable to stay on at Ghyll Royd, though it was our preferred option. I'd definitely recommend Ghyll Royd."
Person Centred, Daily Activities
We take the time to truly understand each resident's unique life story and interests, allowing us to create a vibrant daily programme that brings genuine joy and a sense of accomplishment to every individual.

"My 94-year-old mum came to Springbank Care Home from the hospital after a fracture initially for respite. The home has a lovely atmosphere, the staff are welcoming and cheerful (we are always greeted with a smile) and have helped her to become mobile again. With their encouragement, she goes to the dining room for meals and joins in the many activities on offer in the home and even down to the local chapel hall for bingo! All the staff from carers, kitchen, laundry and management are very approachable and any queries are quickly dealt with and we are kept informed. Mum's room is always clean and warm."
Weekly Minibus Excursions
Our residents look forward to our weekly minibus excursions, which offer a wonderful opportunity to explore the local community, visit favourite scenic spots, and enjoy a change of scenery.

"We received a lovely welcome on a grim November day and were shown to Mum's room. We had booked two weeks respite care. It was indeed respite, living up to the name. Thank you to all the hard-working staff - carers, cleaners, nursing, laundry staff, activities organiser etc. Mum loved one-to-one and singing. I loved being able to visit whenever I wanted. Craven Nursing Home almost became my home for two weeks. Thanks again!"
