Steeton Court Nursing Home is proud to announce the launch of its Memory Cafe, a new monthly initiative designed to provide a warm, safe, and supportive environment for individuals living with dementia and their loved ones.
The Memory Cafe aims to bridge the gap between nursing care and the wider community, offering a dedicated space where guests can connect, share experiences, and enjoy a variety of dementia-friendly activities with their loved one. Recognising the importance of social interaction and cognitive stimulation, the sessions are structured to be relaxed and welcoming, accompanied by refreshments and the opportunity to speak with staff and others in similar situations.
The events are “Open to All” and will take place at 10.30am on the following dates:
- 13th April
- 11th May
- 8th June
- 13th July
As part of the Spellman Care family, Steeton Court is committed to enhancing the quality of life for those affected by dementia. By opening its doors for these sessions (free of charge), the home seeks to foster a sense of belonging and provide vital social outlets that can often be difficult to find.
“We are delighted to host the Memory Cafe and look forward to welcoming neighbours and families into our home,” says the team at Steeton Court. “It is a wonderful opportunity for people to gather in a safe setting, share a cup of coffee, and participate in activities tailored specifically to support their wellbeing.”
Due to the nature of the sessions, spaces are limited to ensure a comfortable experience for all attendees. Those interested in joining are asked to book their place in advance.
To book a space, please contact the activities team at activities@steetoncourt.com or call 01535 656124.
