- A poppy is placed on the bedroom door of our veterans/spouses, this helps us to identify them and remember that they will have a care plan in place to support us deliver care specific to their needs.
- The “ About Me” is completed and placed into the persons care plan. This should be sent with them, if they have to attend hospital. This identifies their veteran status to the NHS and will enable them to signpost our veterans/spouses to help/advice. Please ensure that it is included in any hospital admission information, and that our GP Practice’s providers are aware of Veteran status of our residents.
- Veterans are entitled to referral to the Military Veteran clinical care services that are in place without having to wait for NHS appointment.
- Our Champions have access to Military Veteran training, if you wish to access any of the training or know more about becoming a Champion, please do ask one of the above named staff members.
- Being a part of the VFF Family means that we can share and showcase the individualised care that we provide for our Veteran/Spouse residents to families and visitors to our home, and share our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant and the employment of service leavers.
