Daily Life at Springbank
Activities
Daily life is as eventful or as restful as you choose, according to your own personal routine.
Activities are such an important part of the daily life in a Care Home. Our dedicated team do an amazing job organising a varied programme of different activities to be enjoyed by residents, whilst also supporting their well-being. Residents can take part in as little or as much as they want to within the Home.
From weekly activities such as our visiting hairdresser in our purpose-built salon to baking, gardening, history and arts and crafts, we have a variety of different interest areas throughout the month. There is also many a game of bingo, jigsaws, card games and dominoes along the way!
On a daily basis, we all like to catch up on the news and have a lot of conversations in the home (usually over a cup of tea!) – as we are small home, it really is a lovely community.
We are a member of NAPA (National Activity Providers Association) which supports the team with training, support, and new ideas to ensure we have good variety in the Home.
We ensure that we include all our residents, regardless of their ability, in our activities – so if a resident is living with Dementia, we make sure we include them by adapting the activity to their needs. Also, on a day-to-day basis, we change any plans to make sure we meet the interests of the residents at that time.
We extend a warm welcome to family and friends to visit at any time, join you at special events and to be a part of the Home.
Residents are welcome to explore and relax in the beautiful gardens surrounding the Home.
All our homes are signed up to the Oomph Wellness On Demand platform which compliments the existing activity provision and aims to promote wellbeing of body, mind and soul through a range of activities, exercise and entertainment.
Trips Out
Organised outings are planned throughout the year, with reoccurring popular events, such as our boat trip on the Leeds Liverpool canal and a tour of the Christmas lights.
Our dedicated minibus driver works across all four Spellman Care Homes, allowing residents to go on trips and attend external activities regularly.
There is plenty to see and do in the local towns including; cafés, restaurants, and a variety of shops. Only a short drive away is the stunning Yorkshire Dales countryside.
