Spellman Care’s Summer Fetes Crowned a Resounding Success, Raising over £1,840 for Multiple Local Charities and Residents Funds

Spellman Care is thrilled to announce the triumphant conclusion of its annual summer fete season, a series of truly unforgettable events that brought together our residents, dedicated staff, and the wider community in a vibrant celebration of local spirit and generosity. Each of our homes hosted a unique and lively fete, featuring lively tombola’s and raffles, various stalls, and delicious food and drink, raising funds for local causes.

The ‘Music Festival’ Summer Fete at Ghyll Royd Care Home was a monumental success, drawing a fantastic crowd and raising an incredible £340 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The fete grounds were buzzing with joyous energy and laughter, with attendees singing and dancing along to the fantastic live music from performers including Tom & Bob, Kellyoke, and Unity Ukes.

Meanwhile, the ‘Through the Decades’ Fete at Springbank Care Home and the ‘By the Seaside’ Fete at Steeton Court Nursing Home joined forces to raise a fantastic combined total of £1,030 for the Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice. Springbank celebrated its 150th anniversary with a birthday party twist, inviting everyone to step back in time and enjoy a variety of activities and live music from singer, Olivia. At Steeton Court, the fete was a delightful coastal escape, with attendees enjoying freshly cooked fish and chips and ice creams while listening to the amazing Craig Carlisle, who had everyone up on their feet.

We are delighted to confirm that on Monday (6th October), we were pleased to welcome Tahani to Steeton Court Nursing Home to officially hand over the combined funds raised by Steeton Court and Springbank Care Home to Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.

Craven Nursing Home’s ‘Farmers’ Market’ Summer Fete, with a special veteran twist, raised money for its residents’ fund. The day was filled with a popular BBQ and prizes were generously donated by the community. A truly special highlight was the Spellman Care Veterans’ Café, which hosted its biggest gathering yet, providing a heartfelt afternoon of camaraderie for residents and local veterans. Thanks to the support of all who attended, the fete raised £470 for the residents’ fund.

“We are truly overjoyed to have opened our doors and welcomed everyone to these wonderful summer fetes,” said Steven Spellman, Director at Spellman Care. “They are a perfect reflection of our values and a fantastic opportunity for our residents, their families, and the wider community to come together and create lasting, cherished memories. We are immensely proud of the fundraising efforts and deeply grateful for the community’s support of our chosen charities.”
